Something new and exciting...the OPAL DIAMOND. Antoinette has partnered with a gemcutter to create this stone from high-grade natural OPAL sandwiched between layers of CLEAR QUARTZ. This is a triplet formation, making the opal more durable so that the resulting piece can be faceted into the checkerboard pattern as shown here. The opal fire is brilliant blue, green and red, set in sterling with solid back. The stone is 10mm in size.
Dangling below is a 15mm checkerboard cushion-cut icy QUARTZ so clear that it can be also called ROCK CRYSTAL. The cuts appear on both sides, so the sterling silver frame captures just the edge of the stone to stay open in back. Pendant is 1-7/8 inches long including attached bail.
