Braemar Pottery is on Vancouver Island, Canada. This vase is made in Raku firing process, where the finished piece has been pit-fired with special glazes that respond to contact with flames. The result is metallic and lustrous, a piece that is strong but lighter in weight, and also porous (will not hold liquids, suitable for dried decorative products). The swimming fish scene is found in the oval on one side only. 13 inches tall.
