Some ivory is 500-3,000 years old from fossil walrus tusk, and some is over 10,000 years old carved from giant mammoth tusk.

Dramatic Dragonfly pin/pendant, has wingspan of 1-5/8 inches. Sterling silver setting, with goldfill veins on top of textured wing background. The head has an AMMOLITE set into its bezel. Ammolite, the rarest of gems, is found only in Canada. It is a 70 million year old fossil ammonite shell, that has brilliant color, in this case predominantly green. Other fossil ivory makes up the lower dragonfly body. Horizontal barpin closure, and 3 loops along back allow this to be worn as a pendant at any angle!
